Katja Starken becomes new Professor of International Management

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌø£Àû yesterday appointed Dr. Katja Starken as Professor of International Management. Katja Starken has more than 15 years of experience as a managing consultant for global companies in the energy industry and is a lecturer for Strategic Management, Organizational Behaviour and International Management.

"I have known ÑÇÖÞÌìÌø£Àû for many years and appreciate the special combination of high academic standards and strong practical relevance," says Katja Starken about her appointment. "In my new position, I can contribute to preparing students for a leadership position in our globalized, digitalized world and support them even more intensively in their development. This close exchange is an essential part of my work, which motivates and enriches me enormously."

Katja Starken has been working in knowledge transfer at universities for almost 20 years. She studied Business Administration, International Business Administration and European Business Management in Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). Prof. Dr. Starken holds a PhD in Organization and Organisational Behaviour from the University of Northumbria and has worked as a Managing Consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers and IBM for over 15 years, advising major international corporations and supporting global transformation projects as a change and project manager. Since 2020, she has been a Strategy Expert for the Executive MBA at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne.
