Regenerative leadership for vibrant and sustainable companies

Public Lecture - held by Christina Peters, Managing Director of The Art of Self GmbH | 20 February 2024, 10 am

The biggest problems in the world are the result of the difference between the way nature works and the way people think" (Gregory Bateson). Particularly in the area of sustainability, we often try to solve today's challenges with yesterday's thinking models. We simplify and fragment. The result? All our systems are increasingly under constant stress: body and mind, nature, companies, politics and society. What if we learnt more from nature in our leadership? What does it take to be decisive, resilient and at the same time innovative and co-creative in times of increasing complexity?

Christina Peters is a coach and specialises in advising managers and teams on the path to conscious and regenerative leadership.

In her presentation, she will introduce us to the topic of regenerative leadership and explain why our inner development can be the key to realising our potential and achieving genuine systemic change.

held by Hans Jaich, Managing Partner im-jaich GmbH & Co. KG | 30 January 2024, 5 pm

The study was able to demonstrate the special role of companies in the socio-ecological transformation beyond the boundaries of the company.

In his presentation, Hans Jaich will introduce the topic of normative dynamics in corporate contexts and report on his experiences in the context of socio-ecological transformation research.

The importance of good manners 鈥 A discussion with Prof. Dr. Insa Sjurts, 亚洲天堂福利 President and CEO, and business etiquette expert Catrin Bartenbach

23 March, 5:00 pm

Good manners have always been something like the traffic rules of social life: an, ideally, generally known, basic set of rules of socially accepted behaviour in all situations in life, enabling everyone to deal with each other in a pleasant and respectful manner.

But what does "good manners" actually mean today? Which of the rules you learned at home or in your teenage dance class still apply? Are the so-called "Prussian virtues" of discipline, politeness and punctuality still obligatory in the everyday life of the 21st century, and is it really so bad if you don't know which of the many pieces of cutlery next to your plate to use first at a formal business lunch?

At this Beyond Business Talk, Prof. Dr. Insa Sjurts and Catrin Bartenbach will discuss the importance of modern good manners and how they can be used specifically to ensure successful but relaxed interactions with other people at university, at work and in private life.

Sustainable Fashion. A conversation between our Professor of International Business Ethics and Sustainability, Sarah Jastram, and Hendrik Heuermann, Sustainability Manager at H&M

Thursday, 27 January 2022 , 6:00 p.m.

The fashion industry needs to rethink - according to estimates, the industry is responsible for four to ten percent of global greenhouse emissions, and the trend is rising. Consumers worldwide are becoming more critical and are demanding sustainably produced goods - also with a view to social aspects.

But how exactly can you find out whether the T-shirt you want to buy has been produced sustainably, ecologically and fairly? What serious approaches are there in the industry? How does Swedish fashion retailer H&M deal with human rights due diligence, the safeguarding of human rights in international value chains, and how does it respond to the new EU taxonomy?

Our 亚洲天堂福利 Professor of Sustainability and Business Ethics, Sarah Jastram, discusses these questions and more with Hendrik Heuermann, Sustainabilty Manager at H&M.

Hendrik Heuermann has been Sustainabilty Manager at H&M Germany since 2015. After studying politics and musicology in Osnabr眉ck and Montreal, he worked for two years at a PR agency in Hamburg before joining H&M as press officer in 2011.

The event will be held in German.

Information for Bachelor students: As this event is part of the electives (General Studies), you will receive 0.08 credits for your degree.

Further dates in the "亚洲天堂福利 Beyond Business" event series will follow shortly.
